A room built around one hearth.

Chef Marin Okafor returned to San Francisco after eleven years at two- and three-star kitchens in Lyon, Copenhagen, and Tokyo. Maison Noir is the room she has been writing in her head since 2014.

There is no induction. There are no convection ovens. Every plate on every menu passes within a meter of live oak embers — and the menu changes with what the coast and the coals together permit.
